How to Replace the Front Shock on an S500 MB

1. Roll the jack under the front end of your Mercedes and jack it up. Put jack stands under the front frame and then lower the car down on them.
2. Slide the jack under the driver's side spring and jack it up until the bottom of the jack makes contact with the spring. Raise your jack about 6 more inches to take pressure off the driver's side shock.
3. Use your socket set to remove the top and bottom retaining bolt and then slide the off the jack.
4. Slide the new jack into place and then replace both the top and bottom retaining bolt. Tighten these bolts with your Torque wrench to 35 foot pounds.
5. Lower the jack and repeat steps 2 to 4 to replace the passenger side front shock on your Mercedes.
6. Jack your Mercedes up and remove the jack stands. Lower your Mercedes down from the jack.
