How do I Access the Battery on a Mercedes E300D?

1. Locate the interior hood release lever located below the dash on the driver's side of the car. Pull the release lever toward you to release the hood latch.
2. Move to the front of the Mercedes E300D. Notice that the hood is slightly open. Place your fingers in the gap between the hood and grill to feel for the secondary hood release. When you locate it, use your fingers to lift up on the lever while simultaneously raising the hood.
3. Locate the battery on the passenger's side of the car, near the firewall. Slide the covers off the terminals in the direction indicated by the arrows to access the battery for jumping or charging.
