Audi Sunroof DIY
1. Pry off the clear plastic light cover located near the sunroof with a screwdriver inserted at the top corner of the plastic. Add tape around the head of the screwdriver to prevent the plastic cover from getting scratched.
2. Pull at the top of the gray plastic sunroof switch cover located near the light cover and remove it from the Audi.
3. Remove both screws located at the sides of the sunroof knob with a Phillips head screwdriver, turning the screws counterclockwise. Pull out the light unit and let it hang from the wiring.
4. Remove the three Torx screws located on the sunroof knob with a T-9 Torx screwdriver, turning it counterclockwise. Pull off the knob cover to access a green circuit board.
5. Pull off the green circuit board and let it hang by the wiring, exposing two thin metal pieces raised slightly upwards.
6. Bend and raise the metal pieces to make them stand up more to get a better connection to the switch.
7. Repeat the above steps in reverse to reattach all the components that were removed. When reassembling the sunroof knob, check if the sunroof buttons click. If not, continue to adjust the thin metal pieces until the buttons click. You must do this in order for the sunroof switch to function properly.
