How to Replace a BMW 318 Fog Light

1. Turn the fog light switch and engine off.
2. Look closely at your fog light setup below the front bumper. The plastic panel around the fog light must be removed prior to replacing the fog light.
3. Pull the panel to release the clips and remove the panel from the fog light. Set it aside for easy access; you will need it after replacing the fog light.
4. Remove the 8 mm bolt closest to the center of the bumper. A standard socket wrench works fine. Once the bolt is removed, carefully pull the fog light assembly from the vehicle.
5. Access the rear of the assembly to disconnect the bulb module. Turn the module a quarter turn counterclockwise to unlock it, and then remove the module from the assembly.
6. Press the plastic tab on the bulb module to release the bulb. Discard the old bulb. Insert the new bulb into the module until it clicks and locks into place.
7. Install the bulb into the rear of the fog light and turn it clockwise to lock it. Remount the fog light using the 8 mm bolt.
8. Snap the plastic cover back around the fog light to complete the installation.
