How to Jump Start a Mercedes E430

1. Drive the working vehicle close enough to your Mercedes E430 for jumper cables to reach both batteries. Be sure the cars do not touch.
2. Open the hoods for both vehicles. Both cars should be turned off.
3. Slide the cover off the positive post on the Mercedes battery.
4. Connect one end of the red jumper cable to the positive post on the battery of the working vehicle.
5. Connect the opposite end of the same cable--the red cable--to the positive post on the Mercedes battery.
6. Start the working vehicle and let it run for a few minutes.
7. Connect the end of the black jumper cable to the negative post on the working battery.
8. Connect the opposite end of the same cable to the negative post on your Mercedes.
9. Start the engine on your Mercedes and let it run for a few minutes.
10. Disconnect the jumper cables in the opposite order in which you connected them.
