How to Assemble a Mercedes Benz Taillight

1. Park the vehicle and turn off the ignition. Open the trunk or tailgate.
2. Grab the light bulb panel and ensure that all of the bulbs are secured in place. Turn each one to the right to ensure that they are snug.
3. Hold the taillight assembly and turn it so you can see the back of it.
4. Take the light bulb panel and line up the light bulbs with the corresponding holes of the taillight assembly. Push the light bulb panel into the assembly until you hear the two locking tabs on the sides of the panel snap into position.
5. Take hold of the wiring connectors that are attached to the vehicle. There will be one or two, depending on the model of Mercedes you have. Insert the connector(s) into the back of the light bulb panel into the corresponding female wire connector(s). If there are two connectors, they will be of different sizes so you know the correct connection location. The connector will snap into place when it is in the proper position.
6. Locate the two taillight mounting studs on the taillight mounting area. The mounting studs are located between the outer perimeter of the tailgate rubber gasket and the taillight mounting area.
7. Position the light assembly and light panel into the taillight mounting area. Secure the assembly into place with the two mounting bolts that came with the light assembly kit. The size of the mounting bolts will depend on the year and model of your Mercedes.
