How to Check the Oil Level on a 2007 BMW 328

Check OIl Level Using Dipstick
1. Park your 328i on a level surface. Turn off the engine, and open the car's hood.
2. Locate the dipstick's handle in your engine bay. It will be on the driver's side of your engine bay, opposite of the filler neck used to add new oil.
3. Gently pull the dip stick out, and wipe it clean with a paper towel.
4. Slowly re-insert the dipstick into the tube all the way, and pull it out again.
5. Check the engine oil level visually by looking at the markings on the bottom of the dip stick. The oil level should be between the notches at the bottom and top of the dipstick's measuring end. The bottom-most marker designates the minimum oil level while the top marker indicates maximum level.
