How to Charge a Battery on a 1994 BMW

1. Open the rear doors and grab the bottom of the rear seat with your hand. Pull it towards the front of the car and then lift it up to reveal the battery underneath the seat.
2. Connect the black alligator clamp on the battery charger to the negative terminal on the battery, and then connect the red alligator clamp to the positive terminal on the battery.
3. Set the charger to work for your requirements. The lower the amperage rating on the charger, the more thorough the battery will be charged but the longer it will take. The higher the amperage, the faster the battery will charge, but it won't charge as completely as it would with a lower amperage. If you have the time, chose the lower amperage as it will be better for the battery in the long term.
4. Plug the charger into the extension cord, then into the wall in your garage or carport. Allow the battery to charge for at least one hour before you try to start the vehicle, but no more than eight hours total.
5. Unplug the charger from the extension cord, then unclip the alligator clamps from the terminals. Replace the rear seat cushion.
