How to Troubleshoot Flasher Relay Problems in a 1989 Mercedes

1. Park your 1989 Mercedes-Benz 190E in a safe location, and turn off the engine. For extra safety, apply the parking brake. Pop open the hood.
2. Go around to the hood area, and look near the rear of the strut tower on the driver's side of the car. Locate the flasher attached to the relay block along the upper firewall.
3. Identify the flasher as a dome-shaped device. Grab the flasher and pull it gently, yet firmly, until it disengages from the relay block. Replace the old flasher with a new flasher. Align the prongs on the new flasher with the socket, and simply push the flasher in.
