How to Add Freon in a BMW

1. Turn on the power to the car but do not start the engine. Your dash board and radio will light up when the power is on.
2. Open the hood of your BMW and locate the low pressure service fitting. This fitting is small and located near the windshield and the air conditioning fan. It should be just opposite the high pressure service fitting located near the front of the car.
3. Unscrew the cap to the low pressure service fitting and attach the freon hose. The hose will snap on.
4. Read the pressure meter on the can to find out how low your freon levels are.
5. Shake the freon can and, while the can is in an upright position, pull the trigger on the nozzle while watching the meter. Stop when freon levels in your car are at a sufficiently high level as indicated on the meter.
6. Screw the cap back onto the low pressure service fitting.
7. Enter the car's cabin, turn on the power and feel the air conditioning vents for cold air. They should vent cold air almost immediately when the air conditioning is turned on. Take your car to a mechanic if your air conditioning problems persist .
