Towing Instructions for the BMW 323I

1. Open your 323i's trunk, and unscrew the plastic latch that sits at the top center of the car's onboard toolbox, which is attached to the inside of your trunk opening, to open the toolbox.
2. Remove the two metal tow hooks and the slotted screwdriver located inside the tool box.
3. Locate the square-shaped tow hook cover that is installed into the rear bumper of your 323i, and pry it off with the slotted screwdriver.
4. Locate the front tow hook cover, located near the fog light towards the passenger side, and pry it off with the slotted screwdriver.
5. Install the tow hook covers into both ends of your car by firmly screwing them into place. Lower the tow truck's flatbed, and angle it down so that you will be able to mount the car.
6. Loosen the tow truck's metal winch, and attach it to the rear tow hook. Position the tow truck in such a manner so that the front of the 323i will be facing the back of the tow truck when it sits on the flatbed.
7. Tighten the winch so that the towing wire is taut, but do not begin to pull the car up on to the flatbed yet.
8. Put your 323i's transmission into neutral, and release the parking brake.
9. Further tighten the winch, and slowly pull the car up on to the flatbed. Once it is on the flatbed, keep the winch tightened, place the car into gear, and engage the parking brake.
10. Attach the front supporting tow chain to the front tow hook, and tighten it until it is taut, then angle the bed back up horizontally so it is flat on the truck.
