How to Reset the Change Oil Light on a 1999 Audi A6

1. Sit in the driver's seat and insert the key in the ignition.
2. Press and hold the trip recorder button -- the button to the bottom left of the speedometer. While holding the trip recorder button, turn the A6's ignition to the 'On' position, but don't start it. Release the trip recorder button and observe as 'Service OIL' appears under the odometer.
3. Pull the clock adjuster knob -- the knob below the dash-mounted clock -- outward and hold it until 'Service OIL' disappears and 'Service ---' replaces it under the odometer.
4. Press the trip recorder button and observe as 'Service INSP' appears below the odometer.
5. Pull out and hold the clock adjuster knob until 'Service INSP' disappears from under the odometer. Observe as 'Service ---' appears under the odometer once 'Service INSP' disappears.
6. Turn the key to the 'Off' position and remove the key.
