How to Reset the Air Filter Service on a 2007 530i BMW

1. Put the key in the BMW’s ignition and hold the “start/stop” button until the service reminder message disappears.
2. Press and hold the odometer reset button, the button on the bottom left corner of the instrument cluster, for about three seconds or until a triangle with an exclamation point inside appears on the instrument cluster display. Continue holding the odometer reset button for an additional two to three seconds and watch as an oil can appears in the instrument cluster display.
3. Twist the turn signal stalk forward or backward to toggle through the service messages until the air filter service message displays. The message will vary, depending if it is the engine air filter or cabin air filter.
4. Press and release the “BC” button on the turn signal stalk, and “Reset” appears on the instrument cluster display. Press and hold the “BC” button for two or three seconds and observe as a whirling clock symbol appears on the instrument cluster display, which indicates you have reset the air filter service reminder.
5. Press the “start/stop” button the exit the service menu and remove the ignition key.
