How to Maintain a 2006 Mercedes E350

1. Change your oil every 3,000 miles or at least every three months. This keeps the engine clean. Check your oil often to check that it's not getting low or leaking.
2. Clean the outside of your Mercedes regularly. Try to wash it once a week or so if possible. This will remove dirt and road salt that can cause rusting. Apply a wax coat to prevent the paint from fading in the sun. Keep the inside looking clean and new by vacuuming to remove dirt and debris from the floors and seats.
3. Remove your air filter and hold it up to a light. You should be able to see light through it. If not, then it's time to replace it. Clogged air filters can cause your car to run poorly.
4. Check your brake pads often, especially if you do a lot of driving. If your brake pads get too worn, they can cause scoring into the rotors, which will then need replacement as well. Brake pads should be changed when the pads are getting thin.
5. Flush your coolant every two to four years. It's safer to have an automotive shop do this to dispose of the old antifreeze safely.Have your transmission fluid replaced as well. This is recommended every 36,000 miles.
6. Replace your hoses and belts every couple of years. This will prevent any leaks and head off future problems.
7. Replace your windshield wipers once a year. Worn wiper blades can scratch up the windshield if used when they become cracked or brittle.
