How to Install a BMW 325e Distributor

1. Open the engine compartment and disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Disconnect the ignition wire from the distributor by pulling it off the cap. Be sure to label the wire before you pull it off so that you know the proper location when you reconnect the wires.
2. Remove the screws securing the distributor cap using the screwdriver. Remove the hex head bolts from the rotor button using an Allen wrench. Remove the rotor button. Place the new rotor on the shaft and tighten the bolts with the Allen
3. Install the new distributor cap and seal. Tighten the distributor screws with the screwdriver. Reconnect the ignition leads to the distributor cap according to the labels you made when removing them. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Start the BMW to test the new installation.
