How to Check the Power Steering Fluid on a 420 SEL

1. Open the hood of your Mercedes 420 SEL and locate the power steering reservoir. Locate the oil dipstick in the center of the engine. To the right of this is the power steering reservoir. The reservoir is located just behind the fan shroud. You should be able to locate the container and top, which is approximately 4 to 5 inches in diameter.
2. Unscrew the top. Attached to the top is the power steering indicator specifying if more power steering fluid is required. If the fluid is full, the power steering level is sufficient. If not, the car will require more power steering fluid.
3. Place a funnel inside the power steering container. Pour power steering fluid into the funnel until the indicator reads that the reservoir is full.
