How to Add Navigation to an Audi

1. Plug the charging cable into the jack on the GPS. Then connect the other end to your Audi's power adapter. Most GPS brands charge automatically while you drive. If you use the GPS during this time, it can take up to four hours to fully charge. Often, you are also able to charge the device at home with a computer or electrical outlet.
2. Place the mounting equipment in the Audi. Choose a location for the GPS where it will not block your view when driving. Many GPS units come with a windshield mounting kit. Slightly moisten the suction cup on the mount, then affix it to the desired spot on the windshield. If you have a dashboard mount, peel off the protective paper on back and place it in the desired location. Set the GPS in the mount when you are finished.
3. Let the GPS gain a satellite signal. This tends to take up to five minutes when the GPS is first turned on. If you do not find a signal by this time, make sure that you are not near any trees, parking garages or tall buildings. If you are, drive your Audi away from these obstructions. When the GPS displays at least one signal bar, it can be used.
