How to Get the Serial Number of a BMW

1. Look out through the windshield on the left side of the dash. The VIN is stamped on a plate on the right fender.
2. Examine the vehicle paperwork. The VIN can be marked on the title, registration or in the guarantee/maintenance book.
3. Check other places on the car where the VIN might be located. Locations include the driver's-side door frame, on the engine, on the firewall or on the left-hand side inner-wheel arch. You might also find the VIN on the steering column or the radiator support bracket.
