How to Troubleshoot Mercedes Wiper Blades

1. Wash the windshield with commercially available windshield cleaner and warm water if streaks appear and rain droplets aren't removed by the wiper. Then try the wiper again.
2. Replace the wiper blade if you continue to have problems or six months have passed since you last changed the blade. Even in dry climates, when the wiper isn't used much, the rubber composition can dry out and deteriorate.
3. Close the hood and place the arms in the vertical position on the windscreen by turning on the wipers and moving the smart-key to the '0' position at the point that the wiper is in the vertical position. Fold the wiper arm forwards and turn the blade 90 degrees. Then slide the blade out of the retainer.
4. Install a new blade. Slide the blade onto the arm so that it locks into place. Rotate the arm back into position and fold the arm back onto the windshield carefully to avoid breaking the windshield. Try to clean the windshield again.
