How to Install the GPS System in a Mercedes Benz E500

1. Attach the windshield mount to the windshield of your E500. Do not place it in a location that obstructs your vision as you drive. Most windshield mounts are secured by a suction cup. Moving a lever at the base of the suction cup draws air out of the cup and creates a vacuum between the windshield glass and the mount.
2. Tilt and slide the GPS device into the mount. Position the bottom of the device into the mount, then tilt the top of the device back until it audibly clicks into place.
3. Plug the power cable into the GPS device. Plug the other end of the cable into your cigarette lighter power adapter. Insert the power cable into the cigarette lighter socket and push it in firmly to secure it in place.
4. Turn your E500's ignition to the 'Accessories' position, which will activate the car's electronics system without starting the engine. This will route power to the GPS device and allow you to begin using it.
