How Do I Check Power Steering Fluid in a 1998 BMW 528I?

1. Open the hood to access the engine compartment. Locate the power steering reservoir to the right of the engine. The power steering cap is star-shaped.
2. Turn the power steering cap counterclockwise and pull away from the reservoir. Wipe the attached dipstick with a fresh rag. Insert it into the power steering reservoir and pull back out.
3. Check the level by verifying where the fluid stops on the dipstick. Where the fluid stops is an indication of the power steering fluid level. Add additional fluid if the level does not go above the first notch on the dipstick.
