How to Remove a 2001 S430 Mercedes Shifter Knob

1. Hold onto the shifter knob tightly with one hand..
2. Find the chrome sleeve underneath the knob and twist it right or left with your free hand. The chrome sleeve looks like a two-inch thick ring around the shifter. It can turn left and right when twisted.
3. Lift the shifter knob up and away from the gear shift.
