How to Change a Taillight on a 2005 Audi A4

1. Open the trunk. Peel back the carpet on the inside of the trunk, opposite the taillight that you want to remove, using your hands. Unplug the lights from the rear taillights using your hands.
2. Support the taillight from the outside of the trunk using one hand, while removing the bolts holding it to the car using the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket. Then pull the taillight out of the housing on the car.
3. Slide the replacement taillight into the housing on the rear of the car, then support the lens against the body using one hand and bolt it in place using the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket. Reconnect the lights to the rear with your hands, then push the carpet back up to cover the light.
