How to Adjust the Bias in a Genz Benz

1. Ensure that the tube selector switch setting, located in the tube bias section on the rear control panel, matches the installed power tube type (EL34 or 6L6).
2. Turn the master volume all the way down, turn the standby switch to the 'Standby' position, then turn the power switch to 'On.'
3. Set your multimeter so that it reads DC voltage.
4. Place the black lead attached to your multimeter in to the black test point located in the tube bias section of your Genz Benz, then attach the red lead to the red test point. Leave the equipment to warm up for approximately one minute.
5. Turn the standby switch to 'Operate' and make a note of the voltage on your multimeter. Using your screwdriver, adjust the bias adjust trim pot located below the test points until your multimeter reads approximately 0.6 volts if you are using EL34 tubes, or approximately 0.45 volts if you are using 6L6 tubes. Turning this trim pot clockwise increases the voltage while turning it counterclockwise decreases the voltage.
6. Let your Genz Benz warm up for approximately five minutes then repeat Step 5 until your bias has been adjusted back to the correct setting.
