How to Replace a Window in an Audi A6

1. Clean the work area and your materials. With a screwdriver, remove all the screws in the door panel and place them in a cup for easy access. Use a razor blade to cut the weather-stripping around the edge of the glass frame. Pull it off but on the last remaining inches hold the glass down to secure it and pull the strip completely off the frame.
2. Place the tarp just outside your car immediately below the window. Use the screwdriver to break and push the glass toward the tarp. For glass shards that remained around the edges, use the needle nose pliers to remove them. After that, place the tarp with the shards in an area that is safe. Wash the new window glass thoroughly and let it dry.
3. Remove the door panel. Use a screwdriver to remove all the screws the secure the panel in place. Once done, you will see a plastic covering the internal parts of the door. Peel the barrier back.
4. Fill the empty glass window with the replacement glass. Use a screwdriver to loosen the bolts that secure panel bar; this will give you more space to move the glass freely. Remove the brackets of the old window glass that is still attached to the frame; the new glass has them. Look for a sticker or any marker in the glass; markers signify the bottom of the glass.
5. Slide the glass through the window slots in the frame. Use your hands to slide it up through the slots. Align the brackets that come with the new glass to the frame. Next, make sure that the glass if properly placed and is very secure and if the window operates correctly. After that, tighten the brackets, replace the weather-stripping, replace the weather barrier, reinstall the door panel and reconnect the wiring.
