How to Remove the Tire on a 230 SLK

1. Park on a level service, engage the emergency brake and shut off the engine. Remove the jack and lug wrench from the the storage compartment in the trunk floorboard.
2. Loosen the lugs by twisting them counterclockwise with the lug wrench. Do not remove them yet.
3. Place the jack beneath the jack points on the SLK's frame. They are located between the front and rear tires, near the wheel wells; check your owner's manual for their exact location.
4. Crank the handle until the jack engages the frame. Make sure the frame is securely within groove on top of the jack before cranking any more.
5. Crank the jack until the wheel lifts off the ground. Twist the lugs off using the lug wrench. Set them aside.
6. Grasp the wheel with your hands in the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. Pull the tire away from the car.
