How to Remove a 1994 BMW 318I Radio

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable with the pliers. If your 1994 BMW 318i is the standard model, the battery is mounted in the trunk, beneath the cargo liner. If your BMW is the 318is, the battery is mounted under the hood.
2. Use a small flat head screwdriver to pry open the small covers on both sides of the radio next to the volume knob and the "Scan" button. Behind these covers you will find the Allen screws. Remove them with the Allen wrench and set them aside.
3. Grasp the radio head unit firmly and pull it out of the dash. The Allen screws were the only thing securing it; it should come out easily.
4. Unplug the black antenna cable from behind the radio, and then carefully pull the strap on the wiring harness to remove it from the radio.
