How to Open the Fob on a 2003 Volkswagen Passat

1. Push the key release button on the remote to open the flip key. Bring the key to a table.
2. Turn the key face down. The 'VW' logo should be facing up. Beneath the 'VW' logo, you'll see a seam that separates the bottom part of the key from the top half.
3. Insert a small flat-head screwdriver into the seam and push forward (toward the flip key). The top half of the remote will separate from the bottom. Lift the cover from the bottom half.
4. View the battery and the internal circuit board. Perform the task you need to do.
5. Push the bottom half of the remote's cover into place. Push the two pieces of the remote together to reassemble the remote. You'll hear a snap sound as they reconnect.
