How to Turn On the Automatic Lock Feature on a 2006 BMW 330i

1. Push button '1' on the turn indicator stalk gently up or down to toggle through the display. Continue pushing button '1' until you see an icon that looks like a key with a check mark, and the word 'Set' and a lock symbol beneath it. Press button '2' located left of button '1' in the turn indicator stalk to confirm your selection of the lock symbol.
2. Push button '1' lightly and repeatedly to toggle through the display until you see a key with a check mark displayed, and underneath a lock symbol with the letter 'A' next to it, and a clock symbol representing time next to the 'A.' The 'A' stands for 'automatic.' Press button '2' to confirm your selection of the automatic lock setting.
3. Push button '1' to select the clock symbol with the word 'On' next to it. This activates the central locking system, which automatically locks your BMW if a door has not been opened for some time. The central locking system locks the doors, luggage compartment lid and fuel filler door simultaneously.
4. Push button '1' to select a right arrow with the word 'On' next to it to have the central locking system lock your BMW automatically as soon as you began to drive.
5. Push button '1' to toggle to the clock symbol with a right arrow next to it. This function causes the central locking system to automatically lock your BMW as soon as you start driving, or if none of the doors have been opened for some time.
6. Push button '1' to select 'Off.' This keeps the central locking system unlocked. Press button '2' to confirm the 'Off' selection.
