How to Check Mercedes Power Steering Fluid

1. Open the hood to access the engine compartment. The power steering reservoir is located at the top of the engine to the bottom right of the air cleaner.
2. Unscrew the cap and pull it toward you. There will be a dipstick attached to the cap.
3. Wipe the dipstick off with a clean towel.
4. Stick the dipstick back into the reservoir. Tighten it down all the way.
5. Unscrew the dipstick and pull it back out. Notice where the fluid stops on the dipstick. The dipstick is marked with level indicators and will specify how much fluid is in the reservoir.
6. Insert a funnel into the reservoir if the fluid level is low.
7. Pour in 1/4 of a quart and continue checking till the level is at the Full mark.
