How to Upgrade Audio for a 2008 Audi TT

1. Replace the factory audio head unit with an aftermarket head unit that will be able to handle more amps. A multitude of aftermarket head units are available that include MP3-playing capabilities, have built-in satellite radio, GPS navigation, and inputs for auxiliary audio devices such as portable MP3 players.
2. Install aftermarket speakers to replace the factory audio speakers in your sound system. Aftermarket speakers can consume more power and are engineered for improved audio quality. These can be installed in conjunction with the factory head unit in your TT or coupled with an aftermarket head unit for maximum effect. Examples of aftermarket speakers include tweeters and subwoofers, which can respectively improve mid-range and bass quality of the audio you're playing.
3. Install an aftermarket amplifier to boost the power that is going to your TT's speakers. By increasing the power to the speakers, you're increasing the volume at which the speakers can operate. Some aftermarket speakers and head units will require the installation of an amplifier as the factory electrical system in your TT may not be capable of handling the increased electrical load on its own.
