How to Replace the Headlight Bulb in a 2005 BMW 325i
Low-Beam Headlights
1. Turn the steering wheel to the opposite direction of the headlight bulb you want to replace. For example, if you want to replace the driver 's side headlight bulb, turn the wheel all the way to the right.
2. Turn the headlight switch and engine off. Set the parking brake for safety.
3. Insert a coin into the fastener in the fender well directly in front of the tire. Turn the fastener to unscrew it, and then peel back the service flap.
4. Twist and remove the rubber cover to access the headlight bulb socket. Unplug the electrical connection from the socket.
5. Turn the socket 1/4 turn to disengage it, and then pull the bulb away from the socket. Insert the new bulb, without touching the glass--hold the replacement bulb by its plastic bottom. Push the socket back into place; turn it clockwise.
6. Reattach the electrical connection and the rubber cover. Position the service flap back in place and tighten the fastener with the coin.
7. Repeat the procedure for the opposite headlight, if necessary.
