How to Jump a 98 Mercedes 430

1. Remove your key from the ignition, or make sure that the ignition is not turned to the 'ON' position.
2. Pop the hood of both your Mercedes and the vehicle with the working battery.
3. Place a positive-ended jumper cable (usually red) onto the positive battery terminal (+) of your Mercedes.
4. Place the other positive-ended jumper cable onto the positive battery terminal of the working vehicle.
5. Place a negative-ended jumper cable (usually black) onto the negative battery terminal (-) of the working vehicle.
6. Clip the other negative end to an unpainted piece of metal underneath the hood of your Mercedes.
7. Turn on the ignition of the working car. Allow the power to transfer to your Mercedes by letting the connection sit for a few minutes.
8. Remove the connections in reverse order. Your Mercedes' battery should now have enough power to start.
