How to Cut Coil Springs on a 1996 Audi A6

1. Place the springs on the ground and position them so that they are upright.
2. Make a mental note of where you will be cutting the springs. Bear in mind, the lengths of the springs will need to be equal at all four corners. You can use each coil in the spring as a unit of measurement -- that is, cutting one coil from each spring, to ensure that the springs are equally cut.
3. Cut a 1/2 of a coil of the spring to start off by using the bolt cutters or your spring cutting tool of choice, Incrementally cut additional portions of the spring coil until you have achieved your desired height.
