How Do I Charge a 525 BMW Battery?

1. Locate the battery in your 525 BMW. Check under the hood. Open the trunk and look on the passenger's side for a panel which would cover the battery, if you do not locate it under the hood. Check under the back seat if you still fail to locate it. Face the back seat, pull the front of the seat firmly in an upwards direction. Remove the top of the back seat and place it in a safe location. Consult your manual for help if still unsuccessful.
2. Look at the battery. Find two round posts. Locate the positive one, marked with a '+'. Locate the negative one, generally marked with a '-'. Attach the cable terminal marked with a '-', and generally black, to the negative post. Attach the battery cable terminal marked with a '+', and generally red, to the positive post, being careful not to hit any metal part or another cable terminal. Attach the other end of the cables to the car battery which is fully charged (if you are not utilizing a battery charger).
3. Start the car that is providing the power or activate the battery charger as necessary. After waiting approximately three minutes or per directions on your battery charger, try starting your car. Remove the battery cables in reverse order. Allow your car to run about 20 minutes to fully charge it. Close hood, replace panel or top of back seat.
