Mercedes Benz Door Lock Cylinder Replacement

1. Locate your nearest Mercedes Benz dealer and purchase the specific ignition lock cylinder for your year and model of vehicle.
2. Check your owner's and maintenance manuals for useful tips pertaining to your specific Mercedes model.
3. Disconnect the battery and wait at least 15 minutes before removing the cylinder.
4. Extend the steering wheel as far out as possible and push the driver's seat back as far as it will go. This will help you access the ignition.
5. Place your key in the ignition and place a pointed object, such as the end of a paperclip, into the small hole to the left of the ignition.
6. Turn your key to the 'Acc' position and ensure that the paperclip is as far into the hole as it will go.
7. Pull on the clip and key simultaneously, and the ignition cylinder will slide out.
8. Unplug the electric switch from the back of the cylinder and plug it into the back of the replacement cylinder. Slide the new cylinder into place. Reconnect the battery and test the ignition cylinder.
