How to Install Seat Covers On a Mercedes Benz Sl 500


1. Pull away the plastic siding of the seat bases to expose the bottom edge of the seat cushions. Remove the seat adjusting levers by unscrewing the hardware with a Philips head screwdriver. Remove the retaining bolts with an adjustable wrench.
2. Cover the bottom seats with the bottom seat covers. Pull the bottom seat covers over the bottom cushions and tuck the cover between the seat cushions. Push the rear hooks between the bottom cushions and back cushions of the seats. Smooth out all wrinkles as best as you can.
3. Secure the bottom seat covers to the undersides of the seats by attaching the hooks together. Reach underneath the seats, grab the front and rear hooks of the seat covers, pull them together underneath the seat and attach them to secure the cushions to their seats.
4. Grab the strings on the sides of the bottom seat covers and pull them taught to smooth out any remaining wrinkles. Pull the strings down the sides of the seats and wrap them underneath the seats. Tie them to the underside of your seats while keeping them taught.
5. Slip the backrest covers over the backrests of your seats.
6. Insert your hand into the seatbelt slits on the covers, grab the seatbelts and pull them through each slit.
7. Pull the backrest covers taught, keeping them centered on the seats. Push the hooks at the front of the backrests through the gap between the backrest and bottom cushion. Secure the backrest covers by attaching the hooks together.
8. Tuck the edges around the seatbelt slits underneath the plastic trim surrounding the seatbelt using a screwdriver to push in the fabric.
9. Replace the retaining bolt and secure it into place with an adjustable wrench. Replace the seat adjusting levers and screw them into place. Replace the plastic siding on each seat.
