How to Install Bluetooth in a 2005 Mercedes C

1. Verify that your cell phone is Bluetooth compatible by checking the user's handbook that came with the phone. If your phone is not Bluetooth capable, it cannot be connected to your Mercedes C-Class.
2. Get into your car with your phone. Push the 'Phone' button on your radio control settings in your Mercedes and select 'Bluetooth Phones' from the displayed list.
3. Navigate through the system as the screens change. First, select 'Options,' then 'External Authorization.' This allows your Mercedes to locate the Bluetooth device for your cell phone. Pairing has now begun.
4. Locate the 'Bluetooth' option on your cell phone and turn the mode from 'Off' to 'On.' Wait while your phone discovers the other Bluetooth devices in range. When the choice 'MB Bluetooth' appears on your phone screen, select it.
5. Click 'Yes' when your phone asks if you want to authorize MB Bluetooth to connect with your cell. Your Mercedes system will then ask you to choose a four- to six-digit numeric code of your choice to input in both your car and your cell phone. Speak the code to your car using the voice-activated process, and input the code into your phone using the numeric keypad. Select the 'Connect' option on your phone once you've confirmed and entered your pass code. Your phone will take a few minutes to connect to your car. If successful, the word 'Paired' will appear on both your car's radio screen and your phone's screen.

How to Mount Strut Braces on a BMW 330

1. Open the hood and locate the three nuts located at the tops of the strut towers that hold the strut assemblies in place on either side of the car.
2. Place the strut brace over the nuts to make sure that the brace is the right one for your 330. The holes in the strut brace should line up with the nuts. Remove the nuts on the right- and left-side strut towers with a socket and a ratchet.
3. Slide the holes in the strut brace over the studs on one side of the car and then over the other side. If the holes do not line up the other side, preventing you from sliding the strut brace into position, adjust the length of the brace with the adjusting nut in the center.
4. Install the strut tower nuts on top of the strut tower brace and tighten them with the socket and ratchet. Carefully close the hood the first time to make sure that there in enough clearance between the brace and the hood so that the hood does not become dented.

How to Clean a 1.8 T Throttle Body

1. Open the hood. Locate the throttle body, which is on the passenger's side of the engine bay toward the front of the car. The throttle body is the silver metal piece with an intake hose on one side.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness that plugs into the throttle body. Press a flat-head screwdriver against the center of the clip. You will hear a click when the harness is released. Pull the harness off of the throttle body.
3. Loosen the hose clamp on the hose that is fastened to the throttle body with a screwdriver. Pull the hose off of the throttle body.
4. Remove the four Allen bolts that hold the throttle body to the intake side of the engine with a Allen wrench. Depending on the model, these may also be star-shaped Torx bits. Withdraw the throttle body from the engine bay. Remove the gasket from the back of the throttle body, taking care not to damage it if you are not installing a new gasket.
5. Place the throttle body on a large towel and liberally spray carburetor cleaner all over the inside of the throttle body. Wipe the inside of the throttle body with a clean, lint-free rag.
6. Reinstall the throttle body with the four bolts that hold it in place. Use a new gasket between the throttle body and the engine if the gasket was torn or damaged in any way when the throttle body was removed.
7. Slide the throttle body hose back onto the throttle body. Tighten the hose clamp that holds the hose to the throttle body. Plug the wiring harness back into the throttle body.

How do I Reset Error Code SOS in a 2001 Mercedes

1. Buy a Mercedes-Benz code reader from a website, there are many available. Make sure the code reader has a 16-pin OBDII standard socket port. The 16-pin port is what the diagnostic port on the C320 uses. 32-pin readers can be used, but an adapter and rather complex software is needed. It is simpler and cheaper to just get a 16-pin reader. No batteries are needed, as the code reader draws power from the car itself.
2. Start the car and wait for the reader to flash the name of the code reader, then press the 'Read' button. It will be the green button to the bottom left. It will flash the error code three times; after the third time, press the erase button. Depending upon the model of code reader, you may have to press 'Erase' after every code or only once for all the codes.
3. Disconnect the code reader and turn off the car. Then turn the car back on and replug the reader to check to see if the erasure took. If it has, you are done; if it has not, you will need to replace the SRS sensors themselves, which only a Mercedes-Benz mechanic can do.

How to Repair the Water Pump on a Z3

1. Drain the coolant. To do this raise your Z3 with a jack and lower it onto jack stands. Place the heater control knobs to the hottest setting. Turn the ignition on but do not start the engine. Turn the passenger compartment fans to their lowest setting.
2. Remove the drain plug for the coolant from the engine block, which is located just under the manifold. Place a container to catch the coolant. Replace the plug when all of the coolant has been drained out. Remove the plastic drain plug from the bottom of the radiator and drain the coolant into the container. Replace the plug and tighten it to only 2 to 3 pound-feet of torque.
3. Pry off the small plastic caps that covers the belt tensioner. Rotate the tensioner to release the tension on the belt. Slide the belt off of the pulleys. Remove the fan by placing the special fan removal tool (available from BMW parts suppliers) on the fan to hold it still while you remove the fan bolt by turning it clockwise (it is reverse-threaded) with a 32 mm wrench.
4. Remove the four small nuts that hold the fan pulley to the water pump. Loosen and remove the four nuts that hold the water pump to the engine block. Tap the water pump with a rubber mallet to free it from the engine block and then remove it from the engine bay.
5. Clean the holes in the engine block where the pump mounts so there is no debris or corrosion. Use a rag and wire brush. Install a new water pump O-ring. Place a small amount of white lithium grease around the O-ring to promote a strong seal.
6. Install the new water pump and tighten the bolts that hold it to the block to 8 pound-feet with a torque wrench. Reinstall the fan pulley, the fan and all of the belts in the reverse of removal. This is also a good time to install a new thermostat for extra insurance. Top off the coolant.

How to Make My Mustang Look Like a Mercedes

1. Park the Ford Mustang with ample room to the sides for the wheel removal. Jack up the car and then slide in jack stands to support all four corners. Use your tire iron to remove the wheels.
2. Thread in the bolts into the wheel adaptor and then into the hub assembly. Then wrench the bolts down flush with a wrench. Lift the Mercedes-Benz wheel up and bolt into place on the adaptor. Repeat this process on all four wheels. Lower the Mustang off the jack stands and check for any rubbing between the tires and the wheel well sides.
3. Pry off all the Mustang badges with a flathead screwdriver. This exposes the mounting hole underneath. Measure the peg on the Mercedes badge and the mounting hole. If the hole is too small then widen it with a power drill. Apply epoxy resin to the underside of the badge and press into place. Hold the badge for a few seconds so the epoxy adheres to the skin.
4. Pop open the hood on the Mustang and unscrew the Mustang horse from the center of the grill. Place the Mercedes grill emblem in the center of the grill and screw into place. Shut the hood and take the Mustang for a test drive to make sure nothing falls off. If it does, then use more epoxy resin.
