How to Mount Strut Braces on a BMW 330

1. Open the hood and locate the three nuts located at the tops of the strut towers that hold the strut assemblies in place on either side of the car.
2. Place the strut brace over the nuts to make sure that the brace is the right one for your 330. The holes in the strut brace should line up with the nuts. Remove the nuts on the right- and left-side strut towers with a socket and a ratchet.
3. Slide the holes in the strut brace over the studs on one side of the car and then over the other side. If the holes do not line up the other side, preventing you from sliding the strut brace into position, adjust the length of the brace with the adjusting nut in the center.
4. Install the strut tower nuts on top of the strut tower brace and tighten them with the socket and ratchet. Carefully close the hood the first time to make sure that there in enough clearance between the brace and the hood so that the hood does not become dented.
