How to Crank a Diesel Mercedes

1. Open the door and enter the Mercedes. Insert the key into the ignition cylinder and turn the key to the 'ON' position.
2. Wait for the glow plug indicator on the instrument panel to go out. The glow plugs help pre-heat the cylinders prior to starting the engine. When the glow plug indicator is no longer present, turn the key to the 'START' position and crank the Mercedes.
3. Release the key and allow it to fall back to the 'ON' position. Repeat the process if the Mercedes does not crank the first time. To turn the Mercedes off, turn the key to the 'OFF' position and remove it from the ignition cylinder.
