How to Remove a Mercedes Arm Rest
1. Use assembly wedge to push the handle recess off of the door. The handle recess is the small outer frame around the door handle. Put the tip of the wedge under the bottom edge of the handle recess and work your way around the perimeter to pry it off.
2. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screw in the interior door control. This screw will be located right next to the door handle.
3. Move directly back from the handle towards the back edge of the door. There will be a small cover that you will unclip there and remove the screw that is located below it.
4. Go to the back edge of the door and locate where the door latches when you close it. This is called the lock escutcheon. Remove the screw there and put the screw and escutcheon to the side.
5. Locate the screw cover that is directly below the door handle on the side of the arm rest. Remove this cover with your fingers or the tip of a flat head screwdriver. Remove the screw that is located below it as well.
6. Use the assembly wedge to remove the inner door panel. Start at the bottom, place the wedge between the door panel and the car door, and work your way around the front and rear.
7. Grab the door lining and lift upwards. There will be retaining clips at the top of the sealing rail. You may want to use the assembly wedge while you are pulling up to release the door lining.
8. Unhook the control cable that is connected to the interior door control. Just pull the cable away from the connector. Proceed to unplug all the other electrical connections from the door lining.
9. Put the door lining down. The armrest is connected to this lining so have successfully removed the arm rest.
