How to Replace a Fuel Pump on a Audi A4

1. Make sure your fuel gauge reads one-third full or below before beginning the procedure. Relieve pressure from the fuel system by removing the fuel pump relay in the engine fuse box (it will be labeled).
2. Remove the fuel filler cap and crank the engine. Let the engine idle until the fuel in the lines runs out; the engine will shut off when the line is empty. Turn the ignition off.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable with the pliers.
4. Open the trunk and remove the carpet and the trunk flooring cover. Locate the fuel tank access directly behind the rear passenger seat in the center. Remove the screw from the cover.
5. Lift the cover and use Audi tool #3217 with the socket wrench to remove the nut. With the nut removed, you will gain access to the fuel pump.
6. Label the fuel pump hoses for input and output; you need to be able to properly connect the lines to the new fuel pump.
7. Use Audi tool #3307 with the socket wrench to remove the fuel pump. Slightly turn the fuel pump counterclockwise to unlock it for removal. Carefully disconnect the lines, with the pump wrapped in a towel, to minimize leakage. Remove the electrical connectors and place the old fuel pump in the drain pan.
8. Use Audi tool #3307 with the socket wrench to insert the new fuel pump. Turn the pump clockwise slightly to lock, and then attach the electrical connectors and the hoses.
9. Reinstall the fuel tank nut cover using Audi tool #3217 with the torque wrench. Tighten the nut to 50 foot-pounds. Replace the trunk floor lining and the carpet, reconnect the negative battery cable and replace the fuel filler cap.

How to Remove the Oil Filter Housing on a W123

1. Turn the W123 on and warm the engine to its normal operating temperature. Turn off the engine. Elevate the vehicle at the front end using a floor jack or vehicle ramps. Put on the parking brake and place axle stands under the jacking points behind the front wheels. Also place a cinder block behind each of the back wheels to prevent the car from rolling.
2. Find the oil drain plug located under the vehicle and place an empty drain pan under the plug. Remove the drain plug slowly, pulling the plug straight down. Use a 13 mm socket and socket wrench to loosen the plug. Let the oil fully drain from the tank into the oil pan. Use extreme caution because the oil will be hot.
3. Lift the hood of the vehicle up and remove the filter cover by loosening the 13 mm bolt located on the cover top. Pull the cover off from the filter housing. Detach the rubber gasket and washer from the filter cover. Replace the new gasket and washer that is supplied with the new filter.
4. Take the oil filter from its housing. Use a pair of rubber gloves to do this as the filter will contain hot oil. Take the filter off slowly to allow the oil time to drip out of the filter into the bottom collector. Place the new filter into the housing down straight so it settles correctly. Put the oil filter cover back on and tighten the 13 mm bolt using a socket wrench. Close the hood.
5. Look under the W123 to see if the oil has stopped dripping into the pan. Once all the oil is drained, fit the plug back onto the vehicle. Lower the vehicle to the ground, removing it from the jack or ramps. Add new oil to the engine as recommended by the user's manual. Check the oil level with the dip stick. Wipe the stick off and check the level again until enough oil is added.

My 2002 BMW 540i Won#039;t Start

1. Turn the key to the 'On' position but do not start the car. Turn on the headlights or interior lights. If they are not operating, the battery may be the culprit. Open the hood of the 540i and check the connections to the battery. Wiggle them to make sure that they are making good contact with the battery. Look for any corrosion or debris that may be making it hard to get a good connection. If there is no corrosion and the connection is tight, then the battery may need recharging or replacement.
2. Listen for unusual sounds when you try to start the car. No sounds indicates a problem with the ignition. If you hear a clicking sound, the starter is faulty. If the car starts for a moment then shuts off, you may hear a knocking noise. This can be from a faulty fuel injector or the individual components of the system, such as the fuel filter, fuel pump or hoses.
3. Check the fluid levels in your BMW. Little or no fluid can cause your engine to seize up and not be able to start. It can also cause more severe engine damage if it goes on for too long. Checking your fluids can also alert you to any leaks within the engine. Some drivers have reported leaks in the cooling system that can cause overheating problems. There have also been reports of power steering hoses failing and leaking. By checking your coolant and power steering fluid, you can diagnose if they are the problem.
4. Add gas to your tank. Although the BMW 540i has a gas gauge that indicates the fuel level, in some cases the gauge may be faulty. After adding fuel, attempt to start the car again.
5. Note any smells that may be coming from the engine. When your engine was still running, you may have noticed odors, such as a burning or oil smell. This would indicate that the engine is leaking, and fluid is burning off in the engine. Some owners on Repair Pal have reported complaints with the 540i that the valve cover, intake manifold and PCV plate leak oil after 60,000 miles.

How to Draw a Mercedes

1.
Draw the frame for the body of the Mercedes with a large rectangular cube. Do this with a diagonal rectangle that is larger at the front of the rectangle and smaller at the back. Attach a vertical line to the right and left corners of the front of the rectangle. Attach another vertical line to the back right corner. Connect these vertical lines with two horizontal lines that are parallel to the front of the rectangle and the right side line.
2.
Draw a trapezoid shape for the front window of the Mercedes. Make the trapezoid smaller at the top and larger at the bottom. Attach a horizontal line to the top left corner of the window and continue the line past the window. Change the direction of this line so that it is pointing diagonally down. Connect this line with the back right corner. Draw the front bumper with a thin rectangle at the bottom of the front of the car.
3. Draw the side window by drawing a small trapezoid to the right of the windshield. The trapezoid should be smaller at the back and wider at the front. Create the door with a square attached to the bottom of the side mirror.
4.
Draw the head lights of the Mercedes with a circle placed in the upper left and upper right corner of the front of the car. Create the wheels with two circles attached to the bottom and top corner of the right side of the car. Draw the steering wheel with a curved half circle at the bottom right corner of the windshield.
5. Draw the rear view mirror with a small rectangle at the top middle of the windshield. Draw four diagonal lines running up the hood of the car. Add a vent to the left side of the car. Do this by drawing four small rectangles stacked side by side. Draw the grill on the Mercedes with a rectangular shape that has rounded edges and is curved up at the right and left sides.
6.
Trace the drawing of the Mercedes with your black ink pen. Only trace the lines you wish to keep. Do not trace any overlapping guidelines. Let the ink dry and carefully erase the pencil lines.
