New Audi TT Grill Conversion Instructions

1. Place your Audi TT in Park and engage the parking brake before turning it off. Never work on a car without engaging the parking brake due to the danger of gear slippage, even in a brand new car. Remove your front license plate if you have one and place it to the side.
2. Use a flat head screwdriver to disengage the friction clips in the center grill. You have to slide the screwdriver through the grill itself and wedge the clip up slightly while simultaneously pulling the grill back towards you. Disengage the 14 other friction clips that secure the center grill to the body work.. Pull the grill down and then out when all the clips are disengaged. Disengage the friction clips on the two side grills. Same process of sliding the flat head screwdriver through the grill and into the clip. The side grills have seven clips in total and needs to be pulled down and out to be removed.
3. Place new grills over the holes and mark with markers where the pegs touch the inner flanges. Take the grills away and then drill with a 1/8 inch drill bit into each flange until you are all the way through. Take a rat tail file and smooth out the rough edges of the freshly drilled holes.
4. Place the center grill into place so that the pegs slide through the holes. It is okay to use a little force to get the pegs into the holes. Reach under the lip of the forward body and slide zip ties trhough the holes in the pegs. Then cinch the zip ties tight so that they hold the grill in place. Repeat this process with the two side grills.
5. Turn the car on but keep it in park. Examine the new grills to see if they are moving or shaking. If they are then turn the car off and retighten the zip ties on that grill.

How to Add Transmission Fluid to a Mercedes

1. Read your Mercedes owner's manual to determine the viscosity of the transmission fluid that you need. Only purchase the type of fluid as recommended in the owner's manual. The manual will also indicate if you should add fluid when the vehicle is cold or warm, and where the transmission dipstick is located.
2. Turn the vehicle on, if the owner's manual suggests adding fluid when the vehicle is warm. Ensure the vehicle is on an even surface for the best reading result.
3. Open the hood and locate the transmission dipstick. Refer to the owner's manual for specific location. Many transmission dipsticks are located at the back of the engine, and they may be labeled.
4. Unscrew the cap, if necessary, and remove the dipstick. Wipe it with a rag or cloth to remove the fluid.
5. Insert the dipstick back into the transmission fluid and then remove it. Hold the stick and look at the fluid level on the stick. The stick will be marked with markings to indicate where the level would be full or low.
6. Place the funnel into the hole and add a small amount of fluid. Wipe the dipstick and insert it back into the hole, then remove it and check the level. Repeat until the dipstick reads at the full level.

How to Find the Build Date of an Audi

Obtaining Build Year from VIN
1. Obtain the vehicle's VIN from the dashboard, a body panel, or the Audi's engine bay. Newer Audis have a display window for the VIN at the lower driver's side corner of the windshield.
2. Count out to the 10th character in the VIN and note its value.
3. The 10th character identifies the model year by providing a letter, or number. For example, 1997 is represented by the letter 'V', 1998 is represented by 'W', 1999 is represented by 'X', 2000 by 'Y', 2001 is '1', 2002 is '2', and so on.
Obtaining Build Date from Specifications Sheet
4. Locate the specifications sheet for your Audi in one of the door jams. If your car is a coupe, it is most likely located in the driver's side door jam. If it's a sedan, check the rear door jams.
5. Locate the 'Build Date' field on the specifications sheet
6. Note the month and year printed on the specifications sheet in the 'Build Date' field.

How to Replace the Transmission Fluid in an Audi A4

1. Warm your car's fluids by driving at least 10 minutes before parking. This allows the fluid to thin, making the emptying process easier.
2. Elevate your vehicle evenly using a car jack and jack stands. The car should not be tipped in either direction, since a tipped transmission is dangerous during the procedure because hot fluid could spill out and cause injury.
3. Locate your transmission pan under the driver's side hood of your vehicle. The fluid will be in the square, bolted filter pan.
4. Place your drip pan on the ground beneath the transmission pan area, as a safeguard in the case of spillage.
5. Remove all of the bolts using your socket wrench on one side of the transmission pan, beginning in any corner. It is important to take the bolts off very slowly, so that any fluid that drips will gradually fall into the drip pan and not on you.
6. Lower the transmission pan to ground level without tipping it to either side, since it is likely to be filled with old transmission fluid. If any fluid spills, use your shop rag to wipe up the spill.
7. Discard the old transmission fluid by carefully pouring one corner of the transmission pan at the opening of the milk jug until the pan is completely emptied.
8. Wipe the transmission pan clean, so that no particles or residue from the old fluid can contaminate the new fluid.
9. Mount the transmission pan back into its original position by hand-tightening the bolts for a temporary hold.
10. Secure the bolts into place using your socket wrench. It is important to wiggle the pan a bit to be sure that no bolts are loose and that there is no crevice between the transmission pan and the actual transmission.
11. Remove your jack stands and lower the car jack with caution.
12. Fill the new transmission fluid to the 'fill' line. The typical refill capacity for an Audi A4 is three quarts, although you should watch the line carefully to be sure that you do not go significantly over or under this marking.
13. Run your engine in the 'park' gear for approximately five minutes before checking the fluid levels again. The warmth of the engine will make the fluid settle into the transmission.
14. Measure the fluid level using the transmission dipstick. If the fluid reads below the capacity line, more fluid can be poured into the transmission opening while the car is still running. Shifting the gears of the car may also help the fluid to settle for a more accurate reading, although this is not required.
15. When the dipstick shows the transmission fluid at a sufficient level, the transmission fluid change is complete.

How to Reset the Brake Light on a BMW 528i

1. Locate the fuse panel cover on the driver's side dashboard, near the foot well. Use your fingers to pull down on it from the top.
2. Find a large port on the fuse panel. Plug the connective end of the OBD reset tool into this port.
3. Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the 'on' position. Don't turn on the engine, though. This will power on the OBD reset tool automatically.
4. Wait for the codes to flash on the OBD reset tool screen. Use the arrow keys on the reset tool to find and select 'Delete' on the menu screen. Some OBD reset tools have a 'Delete' button on the face of the tool. Either way, select 'Delete' and wait for the ABS light to blink and then turn off on the instrument panel.
5. Unplug the tool from the port and replace the fuse panel cover. Turn off the vehicle and wait 60 seconds. Turn the engine on and verify the ABS light is off.

My Mercedes 300E Won#039;t Start amp; Is Not Getting Gas

1. Check the fuel gauge to make sure there is gas in the fuel tank. Add at least two gallons of gas to the fuel tank -- if you have an electric fuel gauge to cover the possibility that the fuel tank is empty.
2. Crawl underneath the vehicle and locate the fuel tank near the rear of the vehicle on the passenger's side. Inspect the fuel tank for holes or rusted areas. Look for fuel on the ground underneath the fuel tank which could indicate a fuel leak.
3. Locate the fuel line that connects the fuel tank to the engine. You should be able to identify it as a black hose about three inches in diameter. Trace the fuel line from the fuel tank to the engine area and look for areas of corrosion. Feel the fuel line from dampness that could indicate a possible fuel leak.
4. Locate the fuel filter along the fuel line. Depending on the year of your vehicle, the fuel filter may either be mounted underneath the vehicle or underneath the hood along the firewall. Check your owner's manual for the exact location of the fuel filter. Inspect the fuel filter for excessive dirt, which can clog the fuel line preventing fuel from reaching the engine.
5. Locate the fuel pump near the area where your fuel line just meets the engine. Inspect the fuel pump for corroded areas, excessive dirt, or frayed wires. Replace the fuel pump, if necessary. A faulty fuel pump will fail to send fuel to the engine.
