How to Get a Copy of the Window Sticker for an Audi

1. Contact your local Audi dealer if the sticker was already in the car when bought. Some dealers add these decals to car windows as advertising and the telling signs of a dealer's sticker are those with an Audi logo (four interconnected rings) and the name and address of the showroom. Your dealer should have a copy of the sticker and -- if not -- should have some information on where to find one.
2. Speak with your Audi members' club if the sticker was provided by them. Most car owner associations give free window decals when you sign up along with some other freebies. Obvious signs of a members' club sticker are the club's logo, address, name and contact information. Enquire with them about buying a copy of the sticker or browse the club's merchandise store and purchase a new decal.
3. Ask the previous owner about the sticker if the Audi was resold. They may have purchased the car form an out-of-state dealership or bought the decal themselves.
4. Visit an online store if you still cannot find the Audi's window sticker. Decals without the obvious Audi logo or brand name might not be involved with the company at all. Use the search function of an online window sticker website and type in any of the obvious image features or words (e.g. 'blue flame decal'). Click the 'Search' or 'Go' button and browse the list of results. See Resources for links to window sticker sellers.

How to Recharge the Battery for a 2000 BMW 540i

1. Switch your UL listed battery charger to the "off" position, and plug the cord in to a standard three- prong electrical outlet.
2. Open the hood of your BMW 540i and locate the battery.
3. Connect the red or positive cable to the red or positive terminal on the BMW battery.
4. Connect the black or negative cable to the car frame or engine block on the car chassis. This is the ground wire and it should never be connected to the negative terminal on the battery itself.
5. Set all battery charger options to be applicable with your BMW battery. For example, if there is a 6- or 12-volt switch, set it to 12 volts. Set the amperage switch to any desired amperage that the charger allows. The higher the amperage setting, the faster the battery will charge. If there is a guide and timer switch, set the timer to the correct charging time per the included charging guide.
6. Turn the battery charger to the "on" position while remaining as far away from the actual battery itself.
7. Allow the battery to charge until the charging ammeter reads zero. Use that as your guide. The time to attain a full charge is dependent on battery cold cranking amps and the amperage rating of the battery charger.
8. Turn off the charger when the battery is charged, then unplug it. Remove the cables in the order that they were put on, with the negative cable coming off first followed by the positive cable.

How to Get a Power Window Up Manually

1. Stabilize the door so it doesn't move on its hinges. Open the door and lean against the opened part of the door with the latch against your chest. You will be standing between the door and the rest of the car.
2. Grab the glass between both palms. There may not be much of your window showing, but if you have at least 1 inch you should be able to do this. Put the palm of one hand on the inside of the window and the palm of the other on the outside of the window. Press your palms forcibly together, which will grab the glass between them firmly.
3. Move your palms upward gently and slowly while gripping the glass. Do not allow your palms to slip on the glass. You may have to do this very slowly, but the electric motor gears will turn, and the window will begin to move upward from your actions.
4. Push the window into the seal at the top of the door. When you get near the top of the window frame, reposition your hands and push the window up the rest of the way to make a firm seal. The rubber seal at the top of the frame and the gear movement should hold the glass in place.

How do I Maintain a BMW Motorcycle?

1. Plan out regular cleaning of the motorcycle once a month. Perform a full cleaning by washing the motorcycle thoroughly by hand using soap and water. Do not use a spray nozzle on the hose; rinse the motorcycle off with regular hose water with no pressure. Dry off the motorcycle when done washing and let it air dry.
2. Take one polishing towel or soft sponge and apply wax to the motorcycle body. Apply the wax lightly using a circular motion. Let the wax dry. Take a clean polishing towel and wipe the dried wax off thoroughly, making sure not to miss small corners or edges.
3. Apply a small amount of fresh grease to the hand levers. Wipe off any extra grease with a shop towel so that it doesn't spread elsewhere.
4. Bend down and take a close look at the battery. Unhook the battery strap and disconnect the battery terminals with a screwdriver and crescent wrench if the water level inside is not clearly visible. Raise the battery to good light and look for the water level to be below the maximum and above the minimum battery markings.
5. Add water to the battery by using a needle nose plier to take the top plugs off and drip in distilled water as needed. Replace the plugs when done and reconnect the battery. Check that the drain hose on the side of the battery is still clear and attached.
6. Check the fuel line for any cracks or drying out. Use a screwdriver to loosen the banjo clamps on the hose ends if the fuel line looks old. Check that the fuel lever at the tank is in the off position.
7. Pull the loosened fuel line hose off the tank and the other end off the carburetor. Replace with brand new ¼ inch fuel line measured the same length. Reattach and secure the hose ends with the banjo clamps, tightening with a screwdriver.
8. Look the tires over carefully. Use a tire gauge to check the tire pressure. If it is too low, pump the tire up to correct pressure with an air pump. Examine the entire tire closely for any gashes or cracking of dried out rubber.
