How to Install Dual Exhaust Systems

1. Select parts that are sized properly for your car. Higher-quality exhaust systems take advantage of mandrel-bent pipes and mimic the look of the original car parts. Your local auto shop may build custom dual exhaust systems, but they are probably created with generic parts and fit poorly.
2. Pick a kit that includes all clamps, hangers and hardware, so you will not be searching for pieces to complete the installation.
3. Stop blowing gaskets by using a steel donut gasket when connecting the manifold. The steel resists heat better than other gaskets, while sealing the pipe and manifold together.
4. Position exhaust pipes to clear both the floorpan and the driveshaft by at least 1 inch. When finalizing the setting, remember that the shaft moves up and down with rear axle, and the pipes must clear it completely.
5. Use factory muffler positioning to make most exhaust systems a simple bolt-on installation. If you place your muffler differently, the pipes may need to be bent accordingly. Hanging mufflers higher may require you to drill into the floorpan to hang them.
6. Mount tailpipe hangers near the frame rail to prevent the pipes from noticeably rattling. Brackets should face the front of the car in most cases. Your exhaust kit should come with the proper hangers, but you may have to have a few self-tapping bolts on hand.
7. Check the clearance before completely tightening all bolts. Things move as you attach other parts, so make sure there is still a 1-inch clearance. Rotate the rear axle to make sure the driveshaft doesn't rub against the muffler.

How to Test Ignition Coils on a BMW 328

1. Open the hood. Remove the cabin microfilter cover by turning the three knobs that hold it on 90 degrees. Lift the cover out and set it aside. Remove the cabin microfilter and disconnect the wiring harness from the filter housing. Remove the four T30 screws that hold the filter enclosure in place. Set the enclosure aside.
2. Pry the small, round plastic plugs from the top engine cover and that conceal the screws for the engine cover. Remove the 10-mm nuts that hold the engine cover on with a socket. Set the engine cover aside.
3. Unscrew the oil cap on the lower engine cover. Pry out the plastic covers. Remove the 10-mm nuts with a socket. Set the cover aside.
4. Locate the coils. These are in a row down the engine and are bolted to the tops of the spark plugs. They each have a wiring harness going to them. Remove the two small bolts that hold the coils onto the spark plugs. You can then pull the coil up and off of the spark plug.
5. Examine the end of the coil where it fastens to the spark plug. There will be three contacts. The outside two are the primary contacts. Using an electric ohmmeter, test the contacts. Place the ends of the ohmmeter testing cables on the contacts to see how many ohms the coils are producing on the readout. According to BMW, the acceptable range is 0.4 to 0.8 ohms.
6. Replace the coil if the ohm reading is not within the acceptable range. It is recommended to change all of the coils at the same time, since one failing may be a sign that the others may be failing soon as well.
7. Reinstall the coils by sliding them back over the spark plug. Reinstall the two small bolts with a socket. Reinstall the upper and lower engine covers. Reinstall the cabin filter enclosure, the cabin filter and the lid for the enclosure.

How to Maintain the Engine of a Mercedes Benz 420Sel

1. Change the oil and oil filter at least once every 10,000 miles. To do this, first jack up the front end of your Mercedes and set jack stands in place. Lower your Mercedes down on the jacks. Remove the oil plug with your socket set and let the oil drain into your drip pan. Replace the drain plug with your socket set. Remove the old oil filter with your oil filter wrench. Set it aside and then hand thread the new filter in place. Tighten it down with your oil filter wrench. Add 6 quarts of 10-W-40 oil to your Mercedes via the oil fill hole on the right side of the engine's manifold.
2. Check all your other fluid levels when you change the oil. These fluids include your transmission fluid, power steering fluid and brake fluid. To check the transmission fluid, start your Mercedes and then remove the transmission fluid dipstick located on the driver's side of the engine block towards the rear of the engine. Wipe the dipstick clean, stick it in and remove it. If you need transmission fluid, turn off your engine, stick a funnel into the filler hole and add the fluid. Replace your dipstick when your are done. The brake fluid reservoir is a round, plastic reservoir located near your transmission fluid dipstick. Remove the cap by twisting it off and read the indicator stick mounted on the inside of the cap. Add fluid if it's low. The power steering fluid reservoir is located on the passenger side of the engine block near the belt drive pulley. Remove the cap by twisting it off by hand. It also has an indicator stick mounted on the underside of the lid. If the fluid is low, add it.
3. Check your air filter when you change your oil. The air filter is mounted inside a small box on the top of your engine, towards the back on your 420 SEL. Remove the single screw holding the box in place. Once you've done this, pull the cover off and remove the filter. If it appears dirty, change it.
4. Tune up your Mercedes every 20,000 miles. To do this you should first mark the spark plug wires with a crayon or paper. Number the wires 1 through 8 in the order in which they are mounted on each side of your engine. Since your 420 SEL is a V-8 engine, there will be four plugs located on each side of the engine. Once you have marked the wires in numerical order unplug them by hand from the spark plugs. Use your spark plug wrench to remove the eight plugs. Insert the new ones, tighten them with your spark plug wrench and then attach the spark plug wires in the order you numbered them in before.

How Do I Replace the Fuel Filter on a 2001 BMW 330i?

1. Open the glove box. Open the fuse box by turning the two white tabs on either side of it. Remove the #54 fuse, which controls the fuel pump. Remove the gas cap. Start the engine and let it run until it stalls from lack of fuel.
2. Raise the BMW with a floor jack. Lower it onto jack stands at all four corners. Remove the fuel filter protective panel, which is located under the car just to the front of the driver's seat. The panel is held on with four screws that are removed with a Phillips screwdriver.
3. Remove the metal clamp that holds the fuel filter in place using your hand. Loosen the six hose clamps that fasten the fuel lines to the fuel filter. Place a container under the filter to catch spilled fuel. Pull the hoses off of the filter. You may need to twist the hoses with pliers to get them off of the filter.
4. Drain the excess fuel from the filter into the container. Discard the filter. Install the new fuel filter in the same orientation as the old one. Slide the fuel lines onto the new filter. It is recommended to replace the BMW hose clamps with conventional hose clamps that can be tightened with a screwdriver, as the original clamps require a special tool to tighten easily. You can also use a pair of pliers to tighten the original hose clamps a little at a time.
5. Reinstall the clamp that holds the filter in place. Reinstall the oil filter protective panel. Lower the car back to the ground. Reinstall the #54 fuse. Put the fuel cap back on. Start the car and check for leaks.

How to Compare the Alpine Stereo in a BMW

1. Decide on the actual receiver you are going to use in your BMW. The standard is a single-disc CD player, although you can upgrade to a CD changer, which allows you to insert multiple discs and flip through the CDs currently playing.
2. Select the amount of speakers you want installed. This usually starts off with eight speakers, although many BMW vehicles move upward to 14, depending on the size of the vehicle.
3. Specify the size of the subwoofer if you opt for one. If you love your audio, and want to augment the bass sound, you'll want to spring for the subwoofer, which is installed in the trunk of the BMW. The size of the subwoofer is going to vary depending on the vehicle you are purchasing.
4. Look at the overall wattage provided by the Alpine stereo systems in the BMW. More wattage means more power sent to the speakers, making it possible to make the audio louder without the increase damaging the speakers.

How to Order a New BMW

1. Research your vehicle. When you order a new BMW, you must provide specific instructions on the options that you want. With most BMWs you can choose everything from the color of the paint to the type of suspension. For example, according to Forbes, BMW has more than 9,000 options just for the center console. Knowing which options you want ahead of time will prevent you from missing or forgetting them when you place your actual order.
2. Visit your local dealership. Although research is an important first step, actually seeing or feeling as many options as you can will help you determine what you want in your order. While no dealership will have every available option on display, if you can shop around you should have no trouble finding many of the more common options such as a navigation system.
3. Ask about European delivery. As BMW is a German car company, you can order and receive your car in Europe before shipping it home to America. Under this program, you can often receive a discount off the car's list price and receive a free plane ticket for your traveling companion, according to BMW.
4. Place your order. Once you have made your choices, order your specific BMW either with your local dealer or on the European delivery section of the BMW website. You can also order your BMW directly online if you live in Austria, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy or the United Arab Emirates, according to BMW.
5. Wait. American delivery is usually a few weeks faster, but European delivery can take up to 10 weeks if you live on the West Coast. It will delivered to the nearest BMW center.

How to Do an Audi A4 Oil Change

Three Ways to Raise the Front End of an A4
1. Set the emergency brake. Jack up the front of the right or left side of the A4 with an emergency jack. Position the jack about six inches behind the front wheel well. There may be notches indicating where to place it. Slide a jack stand next to the emergency jack and lower the emergency jack to rest the car's side on the jack stand.Repeat this procedure for the other side so the right and left sides of the car are level with each other. Block off both sides of the rear tire diagonal to the front wheel you're raising. Use bricks, rocks or chocks.
2. Drive the A4's front wheels onto a couple of drive-on ramps, as a second car-raising alternative. Put rubber mats under the ramps in advance, to prevent skidding. If you'll be working on an incline, position the ramps downhill; otherwise, the car might not get up the ramps. Set the emergency brake after getting the car up the ramps.
3. Use two jackscrews as a third option. Position them the same place an emergency jack would go. Jackscrews combine the function of an emergency jack with the stability of jack stands--at a price that may not be worth it to you.
Changing the Oil
4. Idle the engine in neutral until the radiator fan goes on. This thins the oil so it drains more completely. Turn off the engine. Let the oil settle into the drain pan for five minutes.
5. Unscrew the engine oil-filler cap, but don't take it off yet. The point is just to let in air so the oil will drain. The engine oil refill cap is on the right of the engine, if you're facing the hood.
6. Slide yourself under the engine. Find the oil drain bolt. It should the lowest lone bolt on the engine. To tell it apart from the transmission fluid drain plug, metal around the former will still be hot from running the engine.
7. Loosen the drain plug counter-clockwise using a crescent wrench. If it refuses to budge, use a closed-end wrench to grip it better. Put a drain pan under the drain plug before unscrewing it manually. Work on the oil filter as the oil drains. The filter should be changed when the oil is changed.
8. Locate the oil filter. It is attached to the engine on the underside. Fit the oil filter wrench on the oil filter. Turn it counter-clockwise, preferably with a socket wrench fitting in the center hole. Once loosened, you can just screw it off by hand. But don't put your face under it, since it's full of used oil, which can be hot and carcinogenic.
9. Screw in the drain plug after the oil has drained for an hour. In case you use a torque wrench, tighten the bolt to 29 foot-pounds. Edmunds suggest that you replace the washer each oil change, since drain plug washers are compressible and therefore wear fast.
10. Pull the O-ring seal out of the oil filter cavity in the engine. Clean any O-ring residue left on the engine with a rag. Coat the new seal on both side with clean oil, hold it in place, and screw the new filter onto the engine. Keep screwing until you feel some resistance. Continue an additional 2/3 turns using the oil filter wrench. Don't overtighten, which can cause an oil leak.
11. Pour motor oil in the refill cap opening on the right side of the engine. Pour in the following amounts for the different A4 models:
4.6L for A4 1.8
5.0L for A4 2.0
6.2L for A4 3.2
6.9L for A4 2.7 and 3.0 (p. 323)
For the LongLife Service plan, Audi recommends VW 503 00 or VW 504 00 for its gasoline engines. For Inspection Service, Audi recommends VW 502 00, VW 503 00 or VW 504 00 oil for its gasoline engines. If your engine has a diesel particulate filter, use only VW 507 00. Check the dipstick to make sure you don't overfill. It's orange. It's located on the right side of the engine, a few inches in the front of the engine oil refill cap (if the grill is in the front direction). Screw the filler cap back on.
12. Start the engine again. Idle it in neutral until the radiator fan comes on. Inspect the drain plug and oil filter for leaks. Lower the car off any supports.
13. Reset the service interval display by pressing the 'Car' button, then 'Service interval display,' and then 'Reset oil change interval.'

How to Remodel a Car Interior

Interior Upgrades
1. Replace your dashboard kit. Many after-market manufacturers sell their dashboards with adhesive backs for easy installation. Others have hook and loop assemblies. Dashboards are available in various trims including vinyl, carpet, velour, leather, suede, aluminum, carbon fiber and wood. Consumer desires vary according to appearance preferences but conscientious buyers are encouraged to consider other factors in choosing a new dashboard. Some dashboards are made to reduce glare reflected from the windshield, resist solar damage, and reduce windshield glaze.
2. Reupholster your car seats or buy new seat covers. Stitchcraft World Custom Famous Interiors recommends bright, multi-tone seats covers to lend a sporty, racing style to your car. The interjection of a bright color against a muted tone is eye-catching. Stitchcraft World Custom Famous Interiors features a red Audi that received this make-over. To create a uniform decorative look, door panels were reupholstered in fabric equivalent in material and color to accents in the seats.
3. Pull up your worn carpet. Replace your car's carpet with a complementary color and backing of choice. New carpet is essential to full remodeling and gives a new-car smell to your interior. Useful accessories are available for purchase with custom carpets. These include door and kick panel inserts that are protective against the daily assault of passengers. Sound deadening kits are available as well. To protect your new carpet, overlay it with a cut-to-size plastic trim.
4. Upgrade all of the functional components of your car's interior. Decide on a theme and match the colors and fabrics. Replace the transmission gear shift knob, the steering wheel, the brake and acceleration pedals, console arm rests, hand brakes and dome lights. Buying certain parts made with more durable materials like foot pedals can add to longevity. Parts like the console arm rest may be purchased with cup holders increasing their functionality.
5. Purchase and install new audio system components. If your car can only play music on compact discs, you may consider a head unit that can play DVD, MP3 and MP4 audio files. Amplifiers add power to sound and if you want to add a one, your head unit must have outputs to accomodate it. Depending on how you play your music, you may be satisfied with your stock speakers. If a little extra bass is all you need, buy a subwoofer.

How to Remove the Alternator on a BMW 325

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal on the battery. Locate the alternator, which is located on the front, left side of the engine and will have a belt attached to it and which drives it when the car is running.
2. Remove the belt that drives the alternator. Remove the small plastic cap that covers and protects the tensioner. Place the appropriately sized Allen tool in the tensioner and turn it clockwise or counterclockwise--the direction will vary, depending on the year of the car. Slide the belt off the tensioner once it is loosened and maneuver it out of the engine bay.
3. Unbolt the alternator from the pivot bracket with a socket and ratchet. Since the belt holds the alternator tight, it is only held on with one bolt on the pivot bracket. It is quite easy to remove.
4. Disconnect the electrical connections that are fastened to the rear of the alternator. Draw a diagram of how and where the wires are attached or take a photograph so that the wires are re-fastened to the back of the alternator in the correct orientation. If they are installed incorrectly, it could damage the electrical system.
5. Remove the nut that holds the pulley onto the old alternator. The best way to remove it is to use an impact wrench. Place the appropriately sized socket on the impact wrench and then spin the nut off with the impact wrench. Remove the pulley, install it on the new alternator and then install the nut back on with the impact wrench.
6. Reconnect all of the wires to the back of the alternator. Reinstall the alternator on the pivot bracket and tighten the bolt on the bracket. Reinstall the belt and the belt tensioner. Put the plastic cover back on the tensioner. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

How to Restore a Mercedes 300 SD

Instructions
1. Purchase magazines and handbooks detailing the restoration process for Mercedes vehicles. The more knowledge you can acquire about restoring a Mercedes, the easier it will be to successfully finish this task.
2. Secure a clean work area large enough for a disassembled Mercedes 300SD, equipment, storage containers and additional lighting. Prevent misplacing or losing any parts by securing a tarp to the floor to place parts and components upon. Set up labeled containers for smaller parts.
3. Remove the trunk lid, hood, bumpers, front grill, and doors. Disconnect the head and tail lights. Use a jack to raise your Mercedes, then secure with jack stands. Remove the wheels. If any parts have excessive rust, use grease and a rubber mallet to help remove them. Remove the axles. Disconnect and hoist the engine and transmission out of the Mercedes.
4. Disassemble the interior, removing the parts and components of your Mercedes' console and the interior trim. Remove the seats and use a Mercedes specific re-upholstery kit to restore them. Detach the front and rear fenders.
5. Survey all removed components, cleaning and restoring the viable and replacing the damaged ones. Obtain replacement parts through Mercedes authorized dealers.
6. Examine the main body, the frame, hood, fenders, doors and floorboards for any damage, including scratches, holes and rust. Repair by performing patchwork with a MIG welder, soldering metal to the damage. Ensure that the body of the Mercedes is straight and smooth. If necessary, order replacement doors, fenders and hoods.
7. Install the fenders, then sand the exterior. When the panels of the 300SD are aligned, with the metal being straight and smooth, apply a primer. After this has dried completely, paint the exterior of the Mercedes.
8. Restore power components such as the engine, transmission, radiator, alternator, and carburetor separately. Check the drive shaft, starter, axles and brake systems, replacing parts as necessary. Use a hoist to return the engine's components back into the vehicle, then install properly.
9. Ensure the viability of all electrical components. Rewire the headlights and taillights, then install the brake system beneath the 300SD. Attach new or restored front and rear bumpers, then install the windshield, mirrors and windows. Re-chrome any damaged trim. Attach new wheels, remove the jack stands and lower the Mercedes to the ground.
10. Install the interior, starting with the recently re-upholstered seats and carpeting. Install the door panels, handles, console and its controls. Ensure that everything is in working order, then test drive your Mercedes 300SD.

How do I remove a BMW 320I Driveline?

1. Park the 320 somewhere flat and out of traffic. Make sure the emergency brake is pulled before you turn the car off. Jack up all the front end, and then lower the front end onto jack stands. Then, jack up the rear end, and support it on jack stands, as well.
2. Go underneath the 320 and find the driveline. Look for a metal tube that runs between the transmission rear and the rear differential. The tube will have two rubber boots over the continuous velocity joints. The metal flange on the bottom of the boots is what anchors the driveline to the other powertrain components.
3. Slide the car jack under the car and jack it up so it touches the transmission side of the driveline. Then, unbolt the six bolts that secure the driveline to the transmission. Do not lay directly under the driveline in case it falls off the car jack. It is heavier than it looks. Lower that end of the driveline down with the car jack and then go to the differential side.
4. Raise the car jack up so that it supports the differential end of the driveline. Then unbolt he six bolts that secure the driveline to the rear differential. Use the car jack to lower the driveline down. Pull the driveline out from under the 320. You can lower the 320 off the stands at this point but it will not be drivable until the driveline is replaced. You can push the car around if you disengage the emergency brake, though.

How to Change Audi TT Brakes

1. Loosen the lug nuts on the front driver's side by turning them counterclockwise 1/4 turn.
2. Jack the Audi up off the ground using the factory jack point in the front and rear of the vehicle. These jack points are located behind the radiator (front) and behind the trunk, near the bumper (rear).
3. Place a jack stand under each of the four pinch welds located in the front and rear of the TT under the car.
4. Continue to loosen and remove the wheel lug nuts and pull the wheel off the wheel hub assembly.
5. Loosen the upper and lower caliper mounting bolts and remove the caliper. It will still be attached to the brake system by a rubber brake hose. You need to secure the caliper to the Audi's coil springs with zip-ties so that you do not damage the brake line.
6. Remove the brake pads from the caliper using a rubber mallet. Place the face of the old brake pad over the caliper piston and slide a c-clamp over the brake pad and caliper assembly so that tightening the clamp will force the pad against the piston. Tighten the c-clamp to force the piston back into the caliper, but make sure that the piston boot does not twist or rip. It should fold 'accordion style' into the caliper.
7. Insert the new pads with the curved side of the brake pad facing inwards toward the caliper. The tabs on the top and bottom of the brake pad should align with the retaining clips on the top and bottom of the brake caliper. Press the tabs on the brake pad into the retaining clips on the brake caliper.
8. Reassemble the brake caliper. Installation/assembly is the reverse of removal.
9. Spray the entire brake assembly down with brake parts cleaner. Wipe off any dirt or debris with a shop rag and spray the assembly down again to remove all traces of oil or grease.
10. Install the wheel and tighten the lug nuts, then lower the Audi to the ground and torque the lug nuts to 100 lbs-ft. with a torque wrench. To do this, set the dial on the torque wrench to 100 lbs-ft. and turn the lug nuts clockwise with the torque wrench until the wrench clicks; this will indicate that the proper torque value has been reached.
11. Pump the brakes to restore brake pressure until the pedal is firm.

How to Operate Defrost on a BMW

1. Above the radio, locate the symbol or drawing on the button that resembles a windshield. Once you have located the button push it and it should illuminate. In models from the early '90's to 1999 there will be a knob. In the 2000-2008 models, there will be a button.
2. Once you push the button, you have activated the windshield defrost option. In models from the early '90's to 1999 you will have a knob. In this case point the line on the knob towards the symbol of the windshield.
3. Once you do this, find the dial that shows the temperature of the desired air flow. With this feature, you can control the desired temperature, whether you need warm or cold air to blow on the windshield.
4. Locate the button or knob that is used to control the level of the airflow. Again, this will depend on the year of BMW. Adjust the level of airflow that you desire. You will see any fog on the window start to dissipate rapidly. If it does not start to evaporate, try using the opposite temperature that is blowing.
5. Turn the dial to the color blue which represents cold air. Any fog that is on the window should evaporate. If the problem persists, spin the dial to red. This will make warm air flow through the vents, and should solve the problem

How to start replacing CV joints on audi a6 quattro 2000

1.
The replacement usually involves a complete assembly called CV axle half shaft which is made up of 2 axles connected together with the CV joint on each end, the outer and inner CV joints; the outer joint responsible for most of the failures . Although complete replacement with a CV half shaft is not a huge job, the part can be expensive for a original part (possibly $200 and up).
2.
Replacement of the CV half shaft is not necessary most in majority of the cases as the main culprit is only the outer CV joint as the inner CV joint rarely fails in comparison. If there are no symptoms of damage to the CV joints (Clicking sound on turn), replacing a torn boot with new grease could save you hundreds. A new CV boot with new grease is a affordable fix especially if you're doing your own repairs at $20 for a CV boot repair kit.
3.
If there are signs of damage or failure to the outer CV joint, you have the option of either replacing the entire CV half shaft or the damaged outer CV joint, which entails the same procedure as repairing the CV boot except you are replacing the old outer CV joint, which will cost about $80 for the CV joint and boot kit.
4. To test to see if your CV joint has failed is to bring your windows down so you can hear whats happening and which side it is coming from. Have your radio off, and while driving at a walking pace, turn to one side then the other(do this at a empty parking lot). If you hear a loud clicking during these turns, you most likely have a damaged CV joint in need of replacement . Try on both locks and an usually hear which one has failed. Do Not confuse this with the the relief valve sounds from the power steering pump.If the joints have failed, it is possible for the joint to seperate, While the wheel shouldn't actually fall off it is possible for sudden and serious loss of steering to occur and other damage as axle parts flail around. Some people drive around for years with crook CV joints and are none the wiser.

Prop the hood up and disconnect the black cable from the car battery to protect yourself from electrical shorts. Put drop cloths on the edges of the engine bay to protect the paint.
2. Locate the turbocharger downpipe; the Passat's blow off valve is attached to the side of the pipe. Pull the vacuum line top from the top of the blow off valve by hand. Unscrew the O-ring clamp that secures the bottom of the valve to the downpipe port. Pull the old blow off valve off and place it to the side.
3. Plug the new blow off valve into the port on the downpipe. Screw the O-ring clamp onto the bottom of the blow off valve until it is tight and will not budge. Plug the vacuum line in on the top of the blow off valve. Reconnect the black wire to the car battery and shut the Passat's hood.
4. Turn the Passat on and take it for a test drive. If the Passat blow off valve is installed correctly, the engine speed will drop suddenly once you exit the turbo power band. If the engine speed stays elevated after fast driving, then the blow off valve is not working right. The vacuum line may have come off or the blow off valve spring may be broken.

How to Lease Audi Cars

Getting into a new Audi lease
1. Get out there and touch what you want. Start by going to your local dealer and take a look at the specific model you are interested in. Try to see all the different colors in person on the vehicle. Take a look at the different trim levels and what you will be getting with certain packages and options. Sometimes one particular feature that you really want is only available with an upgraded package. Xenon headlights are a good example on the 2009 and newer Audi A4s. You can only get the Xenon headlight package on the Premium Plus model, which adds a few other features that you may not be interested in paying for and don't really need.
2. Do your financial homework. Find out what lease specials are running in your area. AudiUSA.com will keep you up to date with available lease offers. You also want to find out the money factor and residual value of your new Audi. A money factor will usually be in a decimal point format (.00089 or .00125). Take that number and multiply it by 2400 to find out what the actual interest is that you will be paying on your new lease. The base residual value will usually be for 15,000 miles per year. Most banks add 2 percent to the residual value for a 12,000-mile-per-year lease or 3 percent for 10,000 miles. Not all banks follow this formula, so ask your salesperson which financial institution your Audi will be leased through
3. Now that you know what car you want and what lease specials are running, find out how much you should be buying the vehicle for. Edmunds.com is a great tool for finding out what a vehicle is selling for in your market. They will tell you what other people in your area are paying for the same model vehicle. They will also give you a breakdown of MSRP (Manufactures Suggested Retail Price) and the Invoice (what the dealer pays for the vehicle) price on the vehicle.
4. Jump online and send out a few requests for lease quotes from different dealerships in your area. You can have them tailor the lease to meet your needs, such as you need to put less money down at lease signing, you need more miles per year for the lease, or you need to have the lease shorter or longer than what is being offered.

3. Locate the crankshaft position sensor on the back side of the engine block, next to the transmission bell housing, between the firewall and the left cylinder head. The sensor is black and has a single black wire connector attached to it.
4. Disconnect the sensor’s electrical connector and remove the bolt holding the sensor to the engine block. Pull the sensor out of the engine block. If it stubborn, carefully remove it using a slip-joint pliers, moving slowly to ensure that the sensor doesn’t break off inside the block.
Installation
5. Grease the sensor with a small amount of clean engine oil and insert it into the block until it’s fully-seated. Reinstall the sensor’s retaining bolt and tighten it to 71-inch pounds with a torque wrench.
6. Reconnect the crank sensor’s electrical connector.
7. Set the air cleaner assembly into position and press it down on top of the cylinder head cover until it snaps into place. Reconnect the air cleaner tube to the air box and the throttle body air housing.
8. Place the plastic engine paneling in position on top of the engine and press down on it until it locks in place. Plug the Mercedes-Benz Star Diagnosis scan tool into the vehicle’s communication port and run the CKP re-sync procedure.
